Satellite 2019 is a global show taking place next week at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington DC. Welcoming 340 exhibitors and over 15,000 attendees, Satellite is the prime place to see the latest innovations in satellite technology, conduct business with strategic partners and drive the future of the industry.

Spectra Group (US) Inc will be showcasing the innovative SlingShot technology for tactical radio range extension. SlingShot provides Command & Control (C2) for widely dispersed military forces or civilian agencies in austere environments, without the delay of deploying terrestrial infrastructure or the operational burden of protecting and sustaining it.

They will also be joined in the exhibition hall by communications partner, Inmarsat. Inmarsat is the world’s leading provider of global mobile satellite communications services through its versatile and reliable commercial satellite network.
Spectra Group and Inmarsat have established a successful partnership through their two complementary technologies; SlingShot and L-TAC. Spectra’s SlingShot system enables in-service tactical UHF and VHF radios to utilise L-Band satellite frequency, making it possible to work over Inmarsat’s worldwide L-band Tactical Satellite (L-TAC) service.

Working uniquely together, SlingShot and L-TAC offer a combination of reliable voice and data connectivity, independent of local infrastructure and available globally for vehicle-mounted, man-portable, land, marine and air communications platforms.
